As the winter chill comes around, I thought this summery beach wedding was an appropriate for a day like today!
Sharon and Jay wanted to celebrate their wedding intimately with 40 of their family and friends at the Manly Skiff Club. Since I had grown up with Sharon in primary and high school it was extra special to be part of her day from getting ready with the girls till getting on the dance floor.
Instead of going with the big white gown, Sharon opted for a sweet little dress which matched the comfort and casualness of the day perfectly. Despite the simplicity of the occasion, subtle hints of Sharon and Jay’s fantastic sense of style peeped out here and there throughout the day: a cute ‘I do’ imprinted on the soles of Sharon’s shoes, the choice of grey suits rather than black for the gents, the intricate beading and soft coral shade of the bridesmaid dresses, the cute little handmade decorations and personalised signage which gave the reception a lovely personal touch, and the gorgeous cupcake tiered wedding cake.
It was a perfect 26deg day with not a cloud in the sky and crisp blue water. It was a day which BEGGED for a shoot on the beach. Switching their shoes for a stunning Japanese parasol, Sharon and Jay were picture-perfect on the shores of Manly.
A day filled with sun, love, and joy. We hope this brings some warmth to your day!
